Yoga

Yoga, for me, is an important component of the body aspect of ontology.  The definition of yoga is the joining or uniting of the soul body and the physical body through a series of steps that include physical movement, focus, breath work, ethical behavior, and meditation. Once you can become in tune with your senses and the sensations occurring in your body, you are more likely to notice what emotion is under the surface.  With this awareness, you are able to question yourself and determine the origin of that emotion and what core concern it is, or is not, addressing.  This knowledge, allows for better engagement with the world around you and ultimately to more fulfillment in all domains of your life.

Buti Yoga

The word 'buti' is a Marathi Indian term for “the cure to something that's been hidden away or kept secret.” In the practice of Buti Yoga, we believe that TRUE BEAUTY COMES FROM WITHIN. Within the practice, an uncovering of love for self, body, and one another develops. Buti® catalyzes the shift from workout to movement. Punishment to celebration. Willpower to creativity. Isolation to a genuine experience of belonging. Moving the body takes on new meaning when it is rooted in intentional mind-body connection; working out ceases to be a chore when it sets you free. In Buti classes individuals are bonded in the connection of collective experience—and the flow of fluid expression is found from start to finish. Buti Yoga fuses dynamic yoga asana with cardio-intensive dance and deep abdominal toning. It is about bringing balance + restoring overall vitality on the physical, emotional, and energetic levels. This healing modality, which pairs dynamic asana with intentional shaking + vibration, is a healing catalyst for ALL bodies. THE MOVEMENT OF WE which includes ALL OF US - no gender, no groupthink identity - just humanity moving together setting their sights on a new future that shatters any old paradigm of separation.

Merge

Merge is one of the only movement therapies based on connective tissue (fascia) and whose main objective is to even out facial tone, create healthy + stronger connections, all while identifying patters of disconnect in our movement that throw us out of balance. Fascia IS THE MEDIUM That CONNECTS ALL SYSTEMS in the body. Thanks to our fascial system our body has the ability to auto-regulate itself through creating the proper amount of tension our cells need in order to thrive. This is called bio-mechanical auto regulation. Different cells are looking for different environments of tension in order for them to function properly. If cells become too crowded from strain or excess tension they suicide, if they become too stretched it can stimulate reproduction. Both are opposite sides of the spectrum and what could be considered unbalanced. Where do we go from here? And what can we do to take care of this bio-mechanical auto regulatory system? AKA our Connective tissue system, AKA our Fascial system. . MERGE presents an answer. By integrating opposing sides of the body, we begin to balance tension and bio-mechanically auto regulate our entire body. This is beneficial in terms of movement alone, as well as athletic performance. Blended with yoga, you get both the stretching and opening of a yoga practice, merged with the strengthening and functional applications of training the fascia.
